Pre- & post-op scar care | The 90-day Scar Concierge by NM

Protecting the results you're hoping for.

A surgical journey is exciting and a little scary. How you care for your skin before and in the months after surgery shapes the scar you'll live with. I'm here to guide you through it.

    Find out more

Before the surgery, and long after it.

You're focused on the procedure and the result, and that's exactly the moment to start thinking about how your skin will heal. Surgery creates the scar. How you care for your body determines what it becomes.

    Why this matters

Your scar isn't only made in the operating room.

In the first weeks and months after surgery, your body is actively building and reorganizing collagen, and a scar often looks worse before it looks better, passing through a stretch where it's red, raised, firm, or itchy. It continues to mature for 12 to 18 months, but the first 90 days are when the foundation is set. It's also the window when small issues are easiest to catch and correct. Almost no one is guided through it. That's the gap I exist to fill.

    How it works

    The 90-Day Scar Concierge.

A high-touch program that walks with you from before your surgery through the critical first three months of healing.

    01

    Before your surgery

A personal consultation to prepare your skin and body — how to support collagen through nutrition, how to move, rest, and dress to protect your healing, the conversation to have with your surgeon about closure and tension, and your scar-care guide to keep close throughout.

    02

    Through the first 90 days

Structured photo check-ins on a clear schedule, so I can watch your healing closely and act early if your body isn't responding as expected. Direct access to me by text and FaceTime. Personalized guidance on products, silicone therapy, sun protection, and when it's safe to begin gentle scar work.

    03

    Beyond 90 days

When your tissue is ready, we move into regeneration and, if you'd like, camouflage, so your care continues seamlessly under one roof with my scar regeneration protocols.

You deserve all the information. I'm here to guide you through it.

Alongside your surgeon, never around them.

My role begins once your healing is medically safe. I don't replace your surgeon's instructions, diagnose complications, or manage wound care. I support the quality, texture, and color of your scar, and I know exactly when something warrants a consultation with your surgeon. That clarity is part of why surgeons trust me with their patients.

    Care that understands your skin.

Melanin-rich skin heals beautifully but can also be more reactive to inflammation, friction, and sun exposure, which can lead to darkening if it isn't protected early on. My protocols are built with this in mind from the very first days, because prevention is always easier than correction.

A gift to get you started

Start with a guide I wrote for you.

I created a scar-care guide to help you understand how to prepare and how to heal. Drawn from years of hands-on work with surgical patients and cross-referenced with medical research. It's yours, free.

    The consultation

The best time to start is before you need to.

Ideally, we talk before your surgery, while there's still time to prepare, but it's never too late to bring care to your healing. Your first consultation is calm, private, and without pressure. We'll talk through your procedure, your timeline, and exactly how I can support you.

Ideally a few weeks before your procedure, so there's time to prepare your skin and body, have the right conversation with your surgeon about closure and tension, and get your scar-care guide in hand. Even a shorter window before surgery helps — and if your date is close, we work with the time we have.

It's almost never too late. The first 90 days set the foundation, but a scar keeps maturing for 12 to 18 months, so there's usually room to improve its texture, tone, and color. We start exactly where you are and build the plan from there.

No. I work alongside your surgeon, never around them. I don't replace their instructions, diagnose complications, or manage wound care. My role begins once your healing is medically safe — and I know exactly when something warrants sending you back to your surgeon.

Any surgery that leaves a scar you care about — C-section, tummy tuck, breast surgery, orthopedic, reconstructive, cosmetic, and more. At your consultation we tailor the protocol to your specific procedure and timeline.

I'll be honest: no protocol can guarantee prevention, especially with a keloid history. But melanin-rich and keloid-prone skin benefit most from early, careful care — protecting against inflammation, friction, and sun from the very first days, and catching changes early. I build my protocols with this in mind and coordinate with your surgeon, and I'll always be straight with you about what's realistic for your skin.
